iWeiss Theatrical Solutions, a leading provider of drapery, rigging and installation to a wide range of clients in theater, education, construction, retail and special events, has named Monty McWilliams as its new Director of Marketing & Sales. He is replacing Uli Dermody, who has been with iWeiss for nineteen years and leaving the company to pursue other interests.
iWeiss just completed the replacement of (26) double purchase counterweight sets with (46) motorized line sets using Stage Technologies’ BT-Lite Variable Speed Winches as part of an extensive renovation at the Kupferberg Center for the Performing Arts at Queens College of the City University of New York. This system was supplied with a dual speed sensing control station giving the Goldstein Theatre the ability to move its line sets at two different speeds pending the load on the batten, or more specifically loads up to 900lbs at 4ft/sec and greater loads up to 1800lbs at 2ft/sec. This new installation of Stage Technologies’ winches and Illusionist console gives the staff at the Goldstein Theatre the opportunity to create various scenery changes at the push of a button with technology currently in use on many Cirque De Soleil productions and at professional opera houses around the globe. The project was managed by iWeiss senior project manager Richard Parks in cooperation with ARUP Consultants. iWeiss is proud to be an authorized dealer and installer of all Stage Technologies products.

These architectural draperies play an important part in providing an elegant and comfortable setting for your patrons and often involve painted or embroidered details and custom trim.
