Manila Rope |
Manila is the traditional theatrical rope for hand lines and rigging. It has, however, several serious drawbacks:
1.) As a natural fiber rope it is prone to dry-rot and has a relatively short life span.
2.) It reacts to environmental conditions and stretches a lot with humidity.
3.) It has a very rough exterior which makes handling it very uncomfortable.
For all the above reasons we no longer install manila rope and recommend that it be replaced by alternatives such as Sure Grip wherever possible.
