Carpenter Theater – Richmond, VA

carpenter theater drapery curtains fabric sewing

IWEISS worked with Texas Scenic on a new main curtain and decorative swag-valance for the historic Carpenter Theater in Richmond, VA. The theater opened originally in 1928 as a Loew’s theater changing along the way as so many historic movie palaces have. In 2004, the Carpenter Theater closed its doors for an extensive renovation and re-opened in September 2009 as the Carpenter Theater. Now a part the of Richmond Center Stage Performing Arts Complex, with a larger stage to accommodate Broadway shows, an enlarged lobby area, and last but not least, beautiful new draperies.
